Debra Tunney

Debra Tunney is a teacher, author, speaker, mentor, and ministry leader with a passion for equipping believers to live on mission—across the world and across the table.

Her newest book, Faithlines, tells the story of faith carried across generations—the God-stories, ordinary obedience, and quiet faithfulness that shape a family's legacy long after we're gone.

She is also the author of A Legacy of Faith, their life story of God's faithfulness across decades of family and ministry, and When God Opens the Door: How Ordinary Believers Can Share Jesus Across the World or Across the Table, their ministry story of Spirit-led evangelism at home and abroad.

For over 50 years, Debra has served in global missions alongside her husband, Doug, pioneering ministries that include the Care-Net Pregnancy Centers in New Hampshire, Joshua Generation youth outreach, and the School of Evangelism and Ministry. Together, they founded Youth With A Mission (YWAM) centers in Pittsburgh, Boston, and Philadelphia.

A seasoned missionary and professional educator, Debra has ministered in over 20 nations across 5 continents. She holds a B.S. in Education from California University of Pennsylvania and received ministry training through the University of the Nations (YWAM).

Debra's greatest joy is encouraging believers to discover their God-given purpose and mentoring the next generation to boldly carry the message of Christ.

"I have no greater joy than this, to hear of my children walking in the truth." – 3 John 1:4

She and Doug live in Philadelphia, where they continue to train and mobilize believers for evangelism and missions. They have four married children and sixteen grandchildren—many of whom have already joined them on the mission field—continuing a vibrant legacy of faith and service.
