Although now an established novelist, Chloë Rayban is best known for her YA books. Her particular blend of fantasy in the midst of modern-day life may have something to do with her somewhat surprising degree in Philosophy. Her wacky humorous 'Justine' novels were shortlisted for the Carnegie Medal and twice for the Guardian Fiction Prize. One was made into a feature film by Columbia Tristar. Her books have been published by Random House, Hodder Headline, Harper Collins, Bloomsbury and OUP. They have been translated into many languages, most recently Chinese. She says her books 'grew up with her children'. She now writes both fiction and non-fiction for adults. She is also a Freelance Editor for Jericho Writers and loves the inspiration helping other writers gives her. Chloë is represented by Literary Agent David Higham.
Recently Chloe has been busy writing novels linked to her favourite author - Jane Austen. "Outlandish! The Journal of Eliza de Feuillide, Jane Austen's Cousin'" is selling well. It has been reviewed by the Jane Austen Society UK, who say "Rayban really knows her Austen" - It's a fictionalised fun read written in Eliza's inimitable lively style. The success of this has led to "What Mr Darcy thinks..." a trip inside the head of Jane's most inscrutable hero. Find out what he was up to when he wasn't centre stage in Pride and Prejudice.
