Dr. Abu Shardow Abarry was born in Ghana( Accra) on 15 July 1947. He had his primary and middle school education at Accra Newtown Experimental School and Government Boys School ( Row Road/Kinbu).. He had his secondary education at Kumasi (AMASS) and Saint Augustine's College, Cape Coast. After high school. worked as a Translator/News Reader ( Ghana Broadcasting Corporation and Audit examiner ( Auditor-General's Department, Accra).
He was admitted to the University of Ghana in 1968 and graduated with a BA ( Honors) degree in English language and Literature in 1971.He began his post graduate studies there before proceeding to the State University of New York (Buffalo) which in 1977 awarded him a doctorate degree in Speech Communication. .
Dr, Abarry's teaching career began in 1971 as an English Instructor at the Legon (Accra) Presbyterian Secondary School, where he taught for two years. He later served as a Teaching Fellow in Speech Communication and African-American Studies He has taught at the State University of New York ( Buffalo), University of Nebraska ( Omaha), University of Ghana,, University of Jos (Nigeria), and Temple University. At the last named institution, he created and directed the Temple University Study Abroad Program in Ghana for 20 years. In 2013, Temple University awarded him Emeritus professorship . He was an NEH beneficiary at Yale University in 1977,Commonwealth Academic Fellow at the University of London in 1986, and Senior Fulbright Scholar at the University of Ghana in 2007. He is a recipient of Cheikh Anta Diopp Medal for intellectual Originality and Theoretical .

1. Dr. Ibram Kendi, a foremost historian and a National Book Award Author, author of 10 books, New York Times Blest Seller, and Andrew Mellon Professor in the Humanities. He is currently, Director of the Antiracist Research Center at Boston university.
2. Dr. Edward Lama Wonkeryor, Director General of the Council of .Liberian Universities, and former President of William Tubman University in Liberia./ He is the author of several nooks and numerous articles in refereed journals.
3. Dr. Yaba Blay is a professor and scholar activist, a Producer of CNN's Documentary on " What's Black Identity" in 2012.
