C. J. Robinson

What inspired me to be a writer is knowing that my work could change lives. There is a story laid out in the history of my being that started with an eviction when I was just a young teen. That eviction landed us sleeping in the sanctuary of an urban

church whose bus just so happen to be passing by as our things were being forced out onto the street at seven in morning.

where most kids are eating breakfast right before school. My name is C. J. Robinson, and I'm a writer.

The church showed me how to become a product of blessings others. For me, those blessings come in the form of

words. For that church, they cooked for this random family, provided blankets, heat, and resources. I can tell stories of triumph and together, of life much like my own sharing the name of my father; being born on his

birthday and being the product of a couple of miracles. I knew up in a single parent household mostly.

My mother Tonia navigated nine plus children through life while battling a poverty-stricken environment. The

challenges my family faced were all too common to many community members in low-income areas. One of those challenges

were a point in time where I died at birth in a Philadelphia women's hospital. A story for my mother to tell you best.

I was also found to have been born with a disease called, the Agenesis of the Corpus Collosum, A birth defect that doesn't allow my left and right brain to connect. I am a miracle. As a young adult I served ten years in the United States Army and fought in both Operations Iraqi Freedom and Enduring Freedom. As a veteran and retiree, I have strived to empower others and help make lives better one word at a time.
