Jess Webster

Jess grew up alongside three great siblings in beautiful Illawarra, NSW, Australia. After high school it was her love of strange words (like glomerulonephritis, or carbaminohaemoglobin) that led her to study Biotechnology at the University of Wollongong. Following this, it was her love of people (in much greater preference to bacteria in kind-of-smelly labs) that led her to study medicine, again at UOW. Work as a doctor, and eventually a General Practitioner, has taken her to many gorgeous and unfamiliar places around the world; she regards it a great privilege and responsibility to converse with people in their time of need, and to be able to help them. Her most recent book, ‘Grief- what an a**hole’ was written and illustrated over the first year following the unexpected death of her eldest brother, David Webster, on 05 Dec 2020. She hopes that the writings and drawings within might help another grieving person in their time of distress.
