Dwight Maxwell

Author, English Lecturer and poet, Dwight has been writing poetry for decades. As an instructor in colleges and secondary schools, he has been a teacher to many young people and adults. He has been published in the Calaloo Journal of Arts and Letters, John Hopkins University and Calabash, NYU University.

Maxwell's artistic journey spans continents and cultures, infusing his work with a unique perspective that captivates audiences. Born in Jamaica and now residing in Birmingham, England, Maxwell's experiences have inspired a body of work that speaks to the human condition with a powerful voice.

Maxwell's artistic talents were first recognized at Hobart College in New York, where he graduated with honors and received numerous awards for his leadership and intellectual excellence. As a Benjamin Hale Scholar, Maxwell's academic achievements set him apart, and his dedication to writing was recognized with the Charles H. Prize for his captivating 80-line poem.
