P.J. Kennan doesn’t write ordinary stories—and he doesn’t want to. As the founder of Riot Time Studios, P.J. is on a mission to shake up children’s books with stories that are curious, quirky, and just the right amount of rebellious.

His books invite young readers to think sideways, ask wild questions, and giggle their way into deeper thoughts. From bees in existential crises (To Bee or Not to Bee), to surrealist musings in The Man With the Fish on His Head, to the shadowy corners of imagination in Bump in the Night, P.J.’s work blends playfulness with big ideas—all wrapped in clever rhymes, unforgettable characters, and vibrant illustrations.

Inspired by the everyday hilarity of raising three kids (and a deep love for the weirdness of the English language), P.J. began writing as a creative outlet while his eldest was in kindergarten. His first book, I Wanna Build a Robot, was a classroom hit—and the spark that launched a full-time creative career.

Now, P.J. spends his days creating books that don’t just entertain—they challenge. They twist expectations, provoke thought, and most of all, celebrate the wonderfully strange ways kids see the world.
