Hello, and a very warm welcome to the author page of Liz Young, ALSO WRITING AS Elizabeth Young.

I grew up in a series of vicarages, losing myself in books when my father's calling necessitated regular changes of home, and I began writing in my teens. Raising four children put writing on the back burner until I took early retirement and moved abroad for a few years. Now I live in a very small cottage in Sussex, within reach of some of my family.

MY BOOKS:: HELTER-SKELTER tells the early life of Albie Smith, adopted by the owner of a helter-skelter in a town in Kent. Albie's search for his real father introduces him to the Romany world, until WW2 takes him to the battlefields of France.

CAROUSEL is the sequel to H-S, picking up Albie's story in 1952, when he quits his life on the open road to raise his six children alone. Can he find love again in his later years?

BOTH BOOKS are filled with romance and adventure, with a strong undercurrent of gypsy magic.

My LIVING ROCK fantasy series is set in prehistoric Earth, where the volcanic activity has created a very different race of people. The four books of the series are A VOLCANIC RACE, WOLF PACK, LANDSLIDE and ROCK FESTIVAL.

ACCIDENTAL ADOPTION, my latest novel, is the story of Gavin, and Jack, a 12-year-old whom he adopts by accident.

YOU NEVER GAVE ME DIAMONDS - a small book of poems exploring love, grief and dementia.

Last but not least, STRIPEY CAT - a book of poems for children, with my own illustrations which a child can colour.
