2-years-ago today, I lost my dad. It was the worst day of my life and losing my best friend and hero didn’t just leave a huge gap in my life that can’t be filled but sent my mental health spiralling out of control. The last two years have been a constant battle within my own head and some days it feels like a losing one. In the last year I started to write a book as a way of trying to keep my mind busy and give myself a break from those demons in my head.

I was also supported by the fantastic www.seansplace.org.uk ,who provide mental health support for males in Liverpool. I received counselling and can’t thank them enough for giving me support with my battle with depression. This book will hopefully raise awareness for them and 40% of all profits will be donated to Sean’s place.

It is still an everyday battle and one that some days gets the better of me. The aim for this book though is to raise awareness of mental health and will hopefully reach somebody else who is struggling to reach out for help. This book shows that mental health doesn’t discriminate and is rife in football too.

Suicide continues to be on the rise and without help is unfortunately the only option for some. Me and my dad shared a love of football and although the book is called Football>Anything, the loss of him has taught me Life>Anything and I need to be there more than ever for my boys.Thank you to anyone who buys the book or shares this on to others to help raise awareness of the book and Sean's place services, so more people can seek help too.
