D.K. McCUTCHEN: After a decade of sailing around the world with researchers in summer and assisting a glassblower in winter, D.K. now lives on a river with two brilliant daughters and a flightless Kiwi.
Publications include JELLYFISH DREAMING (JFD), LGBTQIA-friendly gender-bender-post-apocalyptic-Speculative-Lit & winner of the 2022 Leapfrog Press Global Fiction Prize for YA (forthcoming with Leapfrog Press, USA, & Can of Worms Press, UK, August 22, 2023).
WHALE ROAD, creative nonfiction about sailing with whale researchers through the South Pacific (a Kiriyama Prize Notable Book & Pushcart nominee) is also forthcoming as an update with JackLeg Press October 16th 2023.
D.K. has contributed to several Fish Publishing Anthologies with: The Glass Bitch, April Fool & the Feministas, and The Zen of Kakapo Poo. She has publications in literary journals such as Hayden's Ferry Review, Lady Churchill's Rosebud Wristlet, Isotope, The Cafe Review, Rosebud, Route 9, Identity Theory and others.
She's currently working on JFD’s companion novel ICE, winner of a Speculative Literature Foundation grant.
