Ebony Blackmon Humphrey

Dr. Ebony is as a full-time nursing faculty member and Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner. Her primary focus aside from acute adults is women with perinatal mood disorders with co-occurring substance use disorders. As a Nurse Practitioner, her experience in Mental Health is vast. She based out of Troy, Michigan and Redmond, Washington. Her work within these markets has enriched her understanding concerning the needs of vulnerable populations. Her lifetime mission is to see communities restored.

 

To achieve this mission, she has consulted with local governments while residing in Green Bay, Wisconsin to traveling internationally as a keynote speaker promoting mental health initiatives. She is a Ronald E McNair Scholar and a recipient of the 2017 Louis Price Spratlen Foundation Scholarship. Her doctoral preparation was centered on Patient Centered Care and Spiritual Competence in Treating Chronic Mental Illness (2018), in addition her research as a McNair Scholar was centered on the Analysis of Clinical and Environmental Pathogenic Microorganisms in their causative relationship to the development of Cystic Fibrosis (2005).

 

As a passionate nurse educator and published author, she looks to bring enthusiasm and a heart of passion for the field of nursing to inspire the next generation of nurses to become agents of change.
