William L. Wolfe

William L. Wolfe received his BS in physics from Bucknell Univeristy, an MS phsycis and one in EE from the University of Michigan. He worked as an engineer at the Willow Run Labs and as a lecturer in the EE department. He then became Chief Engineer and Department Manager at the Honeywell Radiation Center. His final move was to the Optical Sciences Center, now the James C. Wyant College of Optical Sciences, of the University of Arizona as Professor of Optical Sciences. He became emeritus in 1993. He is a Fellow of the Optical Society of America, now Optica, Senior Menber of IEEE and Past President of SPIE,The International Society for Optics and Photonics. He was awarded the Gold Medal of SPIE and Most Successful in His Chosen Field by Bucknell U. He has authored a dozen books and edited about half that many.
