VALSON THAMPU

Served in the domain of higher education in India, both as an academic and administrator, for over four decades. Complemented this with socio-spiritual activism, participating in diverse movements in India. Retired from academia as the Principal of St Stephen's College, Delhi in 2016. Was called upon to ensure and oversee the exercise of educational rights for religious minorities in India, numbering over 200 million, at the state and national levels. Had global exposure as a resource person, in conferences and seminars on diverse subjects. Had a substantial media presence in India, contributing over a thousand articles on an assortment of subjects to the national print media. Has published nineteen books and over a hundred booklets. Serves as a fearless voice of reason, especially in relation to religious matters.
