Lisa Stevens

Lisa Joy Stevens is a Poet and Author from Pittsburgh, PA, and currently resides in North Carolina. She works in the mortgage industry and has for over 20 years. She has a Bachelor degree in Human Resources and Associate degrees in Business Communications and Accounting. As a little girl, she struggled with a speech impediment that silenced her voice, as she was constantly corrected whenever she mispronounced words. This experience deeply affected her self-esteem and made it challenging for her to express herself verbally.

However, instead of letting this setback define her, Lisa turned to writing as a means of communication. Writing not only became a way for her to overcome the limitations of her speech impediment but also a creative outlet where she could freely express herself without fear of judgment or correction.

Through writing, Lisa discovered the power of words and how they could transcend any limitations imposed on her by society. She found solace in crafting stories, poems, and essays that allowed her thoughts and emotions to flow freely.

Over time, Lisa's passion for writing grew stronger, leading her down a path of exploration and self-discovery. She honed her skills through practice and dedicated herself to mastering the art of storytelling over the years. Her passion for children shows through her educational and inspirational series of children's books. Their feedback confirms writing is her gift. Her catalog of writings includes poetry. She started her company, Lisa Joy Books, in 2020.

She is a proud mother to a son, Michael. In addition to her love for writing, she also enjoys cooking, crossword puzzles, and watches all kinds of sports (football, basketball, hockey, tennis, volleyball).
