Melinda McCall, DVM, was born and raised on a dairy farm nestled in the mountains of Southwest Virginia. Her love for animals knows no bounds. She knew she would pursue veterinary medicine from a young age and was determined to prove wrong those who discouraged her. Her job is more than a career; it’s a calling.
Dr. Melinda owns and operates a large animal mobile veterinary service serving fifteen counties in a fifty-mile radius in Central Virginia. She and her all-female staff specialize Beef and Dairy cattle herds, swine, small ruminant animals (goats and sheep), and she also works with camelids (alpacas and llamas).
She earned a B.S. in Biology from Queens University in Charlotte, North Carolina, and Doctor of Veterinary Medicine from Virginia-Maryland College of Veterinary Medicine, a.k.a. Virginia Tech.
Dr. Melinda currently resides in Louisa, Virginia, with her daughter Lucy and their beloved Border Collie, Cap. She enjoys coaching and playing basketball, and scuba diving (although it’s a rare occasion she gets to an ocean). Dr. Melinda is passionate about agricultural education and loves giving back to her community.
