Jo Brassington (they/them) is an educator, trainer, and author working to make educational spaces more emotionally honest and inclusive.
They are the co-founder of An Emotionally Honest Space: An organisation which works to make educational spaces more emotionally honest, and teach young people how to explore their emotions. Through An Emotionally Honest Space, Jo co-wrote and illustrated Bottled: A picture book to help children share their feelings. Bottled has since been used in hundreds of schools to have vital conversations about feelings, mental well-being, and the importance of emotional honesty.
They are also the co-founder of Pride & Progress: A podcast and platform which amplifies the voices of LGBTQ+ educators and explores how we can reimagine our educational spaces to be more queer inclusive. Following the success of the podcast, Jo co-wrote the book Pride & Progress: Making Schools LGBT+ Inclusive Spaces.
