Dr. James Wright

James Wright is an Associate Professor in the Department of Policy, Organizational, and Leadership Studies at Temple University. His research examines how race, culture, and power shape educational policy and leadership practice. Drawing on frameworks of decoloniality and culturally responsive leadership, his work explores how educators and policymakers navigate the tensions between equity mandates, racial justice, and institutional reform. Wright is the author of Critical Ethnic Studies and the Global Pursuit of Justice (Teachers College Press) and numerous articles on culturally responsive leadership, ethnic studies policy, and antiblackness in education.
