My earliest memories of childhood are of connecting with the natural world very soon after I could walk, the love of exploring wildlife was always with me. I was very fortunate I grew up around wildlife. My parents and my grandparents both had a pond in their rear garden. I spent many happy hours watching frogs, newts, caterpillars, goldfish, and other creatures. As time went by I had learned about all these creatures different life cycles by the time I was 7 or 8 years old. I lived at my childhood house with the boomerang shaped pond until I was 12 and then my parents moved to a bigger house. The memories and magic of spring and summer days of pond wildlife exploration never left me.
I have two grown up sons Gillon and Harry, both talented and creative in their own unique ways. They are good friends and supportive of each other which makes me very happy and I'm very proud of them both. My own writing journey began only a short while ago. The accumulation of life experience and love of wildlife and the natural world helped me to shape a few good stories in my mind. A short story study course helped me to begin structuring stories better and improve my writing. You may see a fuller Bio at my website blissfulhound.com. I guess it's all about entertainment and excitement and if I am able to put those qualities into my writing then that will make my readers very happy I'm sure. For me it's all about new adventures, new horizons and experiences and being able to share those with others.
The blend of magic, time travel, flight and adventure to create a sense of wonder are the main elements that I strive to weave into my writing and hopefully I have gone some way to achieving that with my first book.
Best wishes,
Mitch
