Bruce T. Forbes

Bruce T. Forbes is a native of Southern California, a lifelong and still-practicing Christian (who hopes to get it right soon), and a teacher of children’s church classes and leader of children’s music for most of his adult life. Turning his love for writing hymns and children’s songs into an even more serious form of poetry, he is now trying his hand at epic heroic blank verse to honor his scripture heroes and heroines. He and his wife raised six children while traveling the world in the US Air Force and are now sinking roots in Oregon’s Willamette Valley, where he currently serves as the music leader of his congregation.

"Bruce T. Forbes takes on arguably the most challenging of long-poem forms, Miltonic blank verse – challenging because it is at once easy to imitate and difficult to master and wield as one’s own." (Michael R. Collings, professor emeritus in English from Pepperdine University and past Director of Creative Writing for Seaver College”

“I really enjoyed reading this book! The poetry writing style was so straight forward. Will look for future books by this author. Couldn't put it down! “

“I really enjoyed reading them. Brought clarity and understanding of the stories that I didn't get from the scriptures. You have an amazing talent.”

“Your book is wonderful. Not only poetic but totally insightful. I had no idea about most of the background and history. Keep it up.”
