Christopher Anandappa

Christopher Anandappa has been a journalist for Catholic newspapers for the last 35 years and more recently he has been one of the most provocative, controversial and inspiring writers for the Catholic Universe – (Physical edition) and the Universe Catholic Weekly (online) in the Uk. He holds a Master’s Degree in Pastoral Studies from Loyola University Chicago and his Doctor of Ministry degree in applied ministries and Ph.D. in Psychology from the Graduate Theological Foundation Sarasota FL. USA. As a priest and religious, he witnessed the decline of the Catholic Church and religious life the world over having ministered in various positions such as a vocational director, Pastor, School chaplain, Hospital Chaplain, College professor, counselor and served as a voluntary social worker for Lion’s club International and Rotary International having travelled to more than 50 countries on all five continents. It is his firm conviction that the priesthood and religious life has become dysfunctional and a stumbling block to the laity to grow in holiness considering that the priesthood and religious life has been entrapped in clericalism, discrimination, corruption, abuse of power and violation of fundamental human rights all under the pretext of obedience. In his writings, he is calling the leadership of the Catholic Church to be renewed and to get back to its source which is the teachings of the historical Jesus.
