I am a Physical Therapist and fitness instructor who has a passion for treating and preventing orthopedic injuries. I have been in the field since 1987 and have years of evidence-based education and advanced evaluation and treatment intervention certifications. I am a functional movement expert here to help people who are beginning their fitness journey or actively engaged in fitness. I love to teach. I have been a guest speaker focusing on injury prevention topics at many national and local events.
Movement is life. I want to help others keep moving. The advice I provide in my first book address the whole body. I focus on balance, strength and core exercises to build a strong foundation. You would not build a home on soggy wetland --Would you?
Of course NOT.
My goal is to help you build your foundation. Building skill first depends on creating a strong foundation.
The programs I will publish are meant to be easy to follow. I provide tips on how to make it more challenging for the more active individual. I will provide education, tips, debunk the myths and give you real, honest professional advice to keep you healthy and free from pain and discomfort. Or at least give you some recommendations if you are experiencing pain and discomfort.
What is next you ask? I will be working on a book about the shoulder. Why?
Because research tells us that should pain, rotator cuff injuries increase after age 40. Hopefully not in my readers. You will know what to do to keep the aging shoulder healthy and if you do experience discomfort, what are steps you can take to alleviate the stress to your shoulder.
Now what about me? I am active myself. A family of four and now I am pleased to have a daughter and future son in law.
I have hiked canyons, and climbed mountains. I also enjoy running, biking, golf and pickleball. I am happiest when I am outdoors. I will provide information on how to contact me in the future. If I do not answer your questions in my books, I recommend reaching out to a physical therapist to help you. In many states, a PT can evaluate and treat you without a physician's referral. Did you hear that. Seek out a PT first. If a therapist feels your symptoms need elevating to the next level professional, they will recommend a physician of choice.
It is my hope you will enjoy my short books and can put your new knowledge to work for you. Lets stay together on our fitness journey.
