Mahesha has two main passions in life: her family, and the heritage and culture she grew up in. Raised in a Sri Lankan home, Mahesha developed a strong Buddhist faith and a passion for wholesome, authentic cooking. She learnt to understand food – from the way it is grown and nurtured, to how it is prepared and shared. Forging a strong sense of gratitude, trust and respect for her environment, Mahesha’s love of food began. Her commitment to sourcing sustainable ingredients from local farmers remains, as her appreciation for great quality spices grows.
Now living in the UK with her husband and two children, Mahesha is determined to share her love of the Sri Lankan culture – from the unique, humble lifestyle to the warmth of the people and the lush, vibrant landscape.
Mahesha’s business, Rice’s Bliss, recognises her commitment to supporting Sri Lankan communities – sourcing ingredients from independent traders and small, family businesses who work tirelessly to produce wonderful ingredients. Far more than selling herbs and spices, Mahesha’s vision is to share the traditions of her Sri Lankan family home with you - from authentic, flavoursome produce, to the sense of belonging and togetherness that food embodies. Mahesha’s recipes aim to bring friends and loved ones together to share their food, their faith and their families.
