As a long time staff songwriter for several different music publishers in both Nashville, Tennessee, and Los Angeles, California, Warren Sellers lives and breathes music. Having a fascination about the backstories of some of his favorite songs, Warren began his research and wrote, The Journey of a Song, ’60 & ’70’s in 2014. As interest in his book grew, it was inevitable that another book would soon be on its way. “Little mysteries solved about songs I’ve always wondered about,” wrote one of Warren’s music friends, Grammy Award winning songwriter, Jeff Silbar, “ makes me want to listen to them all over again.”
Growing up in Southern California in the 1960’s and ’70’s, Warren ‘cut his musical teeth’ on such singer-songwriters as Jackson Browne, Carol King, Neil Young, Crosby, Stills and Nash and The Eagles. “I’d study those artists, dissect their songwriting chops. I loved it.” Warren has written plenty of his own songs. He recently cowrote the hauntingly beautiful, “Better is Coming,” in 2020, sung by Kendal Renee. “I love all music but my niche seems to be country / acoustic / pop/country/rock/folk—which I guess covers a lot of different genres,” Writing has been a ‘trip’ for Warren and it wasn’t long until, The Journey of a Song, ’60 & 70’s: The Road Continues, was penned. “Life is an adventure, man, gotta see where the road takes you.”
