Caitlin Healy

Caitlin Healy, a senior staffer at the SF Bay Area nonprofit, The Practice Space, is an educator with more than 15 years of experience teaching youth of all ages, as well as adults. Her writing, teaching, and educator coaching focuses on supporting young people with building the confidence, skills and community to advocate for themselves and others toward justice and liberation.

Before joining The Practice Space team, she taught social studies for seven years in public schools, where she helped coach teachers on project-based and blended learning. When teaching in San Francisco, Healy supported high school students to facilitate peer education workshops on ending racism and cultivating healthy relationships. She uses her background in alternative education to advocate for youth pushed to the margins by public school systems.

Healy is a white, Jewish feminist and abolitionist, a mother, educator, artist and outdoor adventurer. Many things bring her joy, but especially raising her son, rock climbing, exploring the outdoors, connecting with friends and family, and being born and raised in Oakland, CA.
