Darius Klein

Queer occultist, demonlogist, world traveler, sonic shaman, and translator of ancient & medieval Hermetic texts, living and working in the Pacific Northwest. I am currently completing an introduction to the demonology ("The Science of the Spirits") found in The Wisdom of the Ages and the Secret of the Sages, a grimoire compended by the disciples of 13th-century alchemical master Muhammad al-Iraqi. It is, in a way, a companion piece to my unorthodox spiritual history The Serpents of Lemuria. My hope is that these works will inspire readers to further explore the world of medieval Islamic occultism and connect with the arcane forces and intelligences at work all around us.

A blog of my Latin translations, "Christian Latin" (courtesy of Blogger), is available on-line. Presented there are texts of a curious nature, not found in standard Classics or Medieval Studies curricula. Some additional, informal translations, plus a monograph on the work of Pacific Northwest Native American storyteller Johnny Moses, containing lexical material from an otherwise undocumented variety of the Samish language (Washington-British Columbia), can be found on my author page at academia dot ee dee yoo. Occlith 1: Codex Homunculi contains some of my most significant translations, all pertaining to the artificial or alchemical creation of life; unfortunately, it is currently out of print and of limited availability.
