This fascinating Purportedly written in 1949 by V. M. Straka, it is in fact a book written in 2013 by J. J. Abrams and Doug Dorst as an exercise in book creativity. The supposedly library book with its mysterious author is traded between two students, Eric and Jennifer, as they try and find out who the author really is. Included are the following ephemera: 5 hand written letters; 2 facsimile telegrams; 8 cards, postcards and photos; 1 handwritten card with newspaper obituary; Notes on Pollard State University notepaper; 2 photocopied letters; 1 extract from the Toronto Review; 2 facsimile newspaper extracts; 1 map on serviette; 1 circular compass device. A man is shanghaied onto a strange ship with a monstrous crew and launched onto a disorienting and perilous journey. A very nice copy. Book.…
