Abby Pelaez

Abby Pelaez is a fiction and nonfiction writer. She explores themes of diaspora, anti-capitalism, and queer and platonic love and has completed the Whistler Writer in Residence mentorship on a scholarship acceptance. She is a graduate of Simon Fraser University’s The Writer’s Studio (2022). She has read her work at the Vancouver Writer’s Festival, and excerpts from her in-progress food memoir are forthcoming in Room Magazine and Hungry Zine.

Abby draws inspiration from her Filipino-Canadian upbringing in Vancouver, her travel experience, career path, and the intriguing people she has had the pleasure to meet.
