Janelle Johnson

Janelle Johnson's mission is to promote humankind's welfare in the mental health field. In addition, she works to combat stigmas and misconceptions about mental health treatments. Janelle holds an Associate of Arts in Business from Phoenix College, a Bachelor of Science in Family Resources and Human Development from Arizona State University, and a Master of Arts degree in Counseling from Regis University. In addition, Janelle is a Grand Canyon University doctoral student in the Doctor of Philosophy in Counselor Education and Supervision program.

Janelle is an author, licensed professional counselor, national certified counselor, mental health television correspondent, mental health speaker, businesswoman, and guided meditation lyricist. In 2011, Janelle formed Life Balance Counseling's private practice in Colorado. Janelle is led to practice and specializes in areas lived experientially and dear to her. She works with clients wanting to regulate emotions, recognize anxiety triggers, manage depression symptoms, process grief and loss, build healthy relationships, and sustain self-worth, and value. Janelle has an authentic interest in her client's personal and social growth. In therapy, Janelle listens to people for understanding; while pulling out their values so they may "balance their life." In therapy, Janelle and clients work collaboratively to maximize the client's full potential and work towards optimal health. Clients are encouraged to move toward their goals and access resources available to nurture themselves, others, and what is dear to them.

Janelle is the owner of Elle Naj wellness, products, and publishing. Elle Naj produces books, guided meditations, and products. Janelle has contributed mental health articles to the CO Black Health Collaborative, Good Therapy, and marriage.com. In addition, Janelle is featured in the June 2022 men’s mental health issue in the Denver Urban Spectrum magazine. Janelle's volunteerism included mental health coordinating for the Denver District A.M.E. Zion Church, CO Black Health Collaborative, and as a CO Registered Psychotherapist Board Member. Janelle is a member of the NAACP, U.S. Black Chambers, Inc., ACA, and Rho Upsilon Chi Chapter. Janelle was a featured psychotherapist on two episodes of TV One's "Fatal Attraction" and a FOX news television correspondent discussing grief and loss. Additionally, Janelle is a mental health television correspondent interviewed on Denver7 and local3 news broadcasts "destigmatizing mental health."
