Nushin Elahi

Nushin Elahi’s 20-year career in journalism and the arts in South Africa included working as a drama critic and an arts editor on two national newspapers. Moving to London with her husband and two children just over 20 years ago, she continued freelancing as an arts journalist, as well as working at the British Museum and Camden’s Roundhouse Theatre. Her mother’s art has always been part of her life and Nushin curated annual exhibitions for Alice Elahi for over 25 years, culminating in a touring retrospective and publishing a book about the artist.

Learning to fly was a sharp contrast to all this, but Nushin now has a National Private Pilot’s Licence with Microlight and GA ratings. She soon discovered the lessons she learnt in the cockpit were those other women also needed, and now runs a successful coaching business between regular flights from her local airfields.
