Anthony Lynch.

Early Education: Marlborough Grammar School; St John’s College, Cambridge (1953-1957) where he read History and Philosophy. Two years (1957-1959) were spent- as directed by the Tribunal for Conscientious objectors – employed as a Nursing Assistant in the Emergency Psychiatric Unit of St Francis Hospital, East Dulwich. He wrote his first book, Y Block - a record of his two years there.

Afterwards he had a successful career in marketing structural components for the building industry; first with Dexion Ltd. and then with ISS Ltd. Next he was appointed the first marketing manager for Aram Designs Ltd; and finally as a Director of Christian Sell Designs Ltd. Anthony took a career change studying A level science subjects and entering The Royal Free Hospital Medical School. Here after hospital jobs he became a GP and practised in Gloucestershire until retirement.

Dr Lynch has written on medical matters and eighteenth century art history.

Y Block the manuscript was lost in house moves until the spring of 2022. It is offered now with love to those who ever suffer from a mental illness and to those dedicated people who care for them.

The second book, The Hanging of William Dodd arose out of his studies particularly of 18th Century medicine and social history.
