Myriam Renaud

Professor Myriam Renaud (PhD religious studies and ethics, University of Chicago) teaches religion and bioethics in the Department of Religious Studies at DePaul University in Chicago.

Her scholarly research focuses on constructive philosophical theology and the concept of God. She is the author of the monograph "Constructing Moral Concepts of God in a Global Age" (Routledge, 2022), and co-editor (with William Schweiker) and contributor to "Perspectives on a Global Ethic: Toward a Common Morality" (Routledge, 2020), and co-editor and contributor to "God and the Moral Life" (Routledge, 2018). She has also published several peer-reviewed articles. Two more book projects are under way.

In addition, she often analyzes religion in the news for general audiences. Her work has appeared in The Atlantic online, The Conversation US, Religion & Politics, The Globe Post, Al Jazeera English, among others, and she has been quoted in The Washington Post, The Los Angeles Times, and The New Republic. One of her articles on white evangelicals appears in the collection, "Sightings: Reflections on Religion in Public Life" (Eerdmans, 2019).
