Trevor Takasu is a wedding producer, ordained minister and author of his book, Wedding Traditions Worldwide. He grew up in Melbourne, Australia, and moved to Gold Coast, Queensland, after graduation. He moved to Nagoya, Japan to learn the language and met his wife there. His personal wedding experience at the oldest shrine in Nagoya, dressed in traditional clothing, changed his life. This is where it all began.
Trevor has created wedding packages for Japanese and American couples in more than forty countries around the world. He has been a certified wedding specialist, wedding officiant and master of ceremonies for over twenty-five years. Doris M. Nixon, retired president of Weddings Beautiful, helped Trevor become a professional wedding planner through her study courses. Coordinating weddings abroad and holding ceremonies in Guam, Hawaii, Japan and Australia led him to research and eventually write this book. Over the years, Trevor has observed that potential couples’ ideas about the meaning of their marriage have changed. Each generation tries to create something original and memorable. He strives to help couples enjoy their special day by listening, learning and treating each wedding as his own.
