Maria Parrott-Ryan is the author of entertaining and illuminating nonfiction for young readers including AN ASTONISHING CIRCLE: THE DISCOVERY AND DENIAL OF THE CIRCULATORY SYSTEM and MYSTERIOUS GLOWING MAMMALS: AN UNEXPECTED DISCVOERY SPARKS A SCIENTIFIC INVESTIGATION, which was a Junior Library Guild Gold Standard selection, a Cooperative Children’s Book Center choice, and the 2024 selection for the Library of Congress Great Reads from Great Places program. Maria lives with her family in Madison, Wisconsin.
