Joost Lohman is a poet and digital artist. He was born in Haarlem in the Netherlands and trained as a scientist. He spent his career in the development of scientific instruments but is now retired. He has lived in Kenilworth in Warwickshire since 1990. Joost is married with two grown-up daughters.
He started writing poetry (in Dutch) as a teenager and continued to write for over a decade until his Muse went into hibernation. At the beginning of the twenty-first century he rediscovered his drive to write, now writing in English. His book of poetry “A Trail of Words” is his first collection to appear in print.
As an alternative means of creative expression Joost took up photography, also as a teenager. For the last twenty-odd years he has exclusively used digital techniques. He enjoys the freedom that digital image processing brings and this has allowed him to develop novel ways of creating abstract images. His journey from photographer to digital artist is the subject of his book “Discoveries”.
