Melony Beard

I'm Melony Beard, a Mississippi writer, but most of all I'm a wife, mother of three boys, and Mimi to two wonderful grandchildren. I've had a lifelong love of writing, especially stories told in rhyme. I also enjoy creating silly tales that make children smile, laugh, and ask to read them again.

While raising my boys, I realized how challenging it could be to spark a love of reading. The stories they enjoyed most were often the funniest and silliest ones we could find. That experience inspired my mission as an autho to create books that even the most reluctant young readers will be excited to pick up.

I am the author of the Land of Fairy Tales series, which takes readers to a magical world where beloved fairy tale heroes live alongside the neighboring Badlands, home to the classic villains. Filled with lollipop trees, gardens of hearts and Easter eggs, familiar fairy tale characters, and a few new friends, these stories are written to entertain while gently teaching lessons about kindness, friendship, sharing, and helping others.

I also write playful rhyming picture books for younger readers that combine humor with early learning, introducing concepts such as numbers, colors, and more through memorable, laugh-out-loud adventures.
