M. D. Clarke

I grew up in a small town in northern Maine, and it offered a world of outdoor exploration. I spent as much time as I could roaming the woods, fields and rivers, always searching for something new.

A close friend lived on a dairy farm up the road, which provided me with the inspiration for Elsa, and the great woods beyond always made me think of the huge moose that inhabit the forest, who would occasionally come out of the woods to visit.

I still get away as much as I can to wander the north woods for the serenity and scenic beauty.
