Bart Howard

Bart Howard is a native of California. He earned a B.A. in history from Santa Clara University, a M.A. from American Military University and the U.S. Army War College. He is a graduate of the Australian Army Command and Staff College. He has commanded at every level from Platoon (16 Soldiers) to Brigade (3500 Soldiers). He has served in combat in Desert Storm and Afghanistan. He was the Chief of Staff of Combined Forces Command Afghanistan and the Military Assistant to the NATO Commander in Kabul. In his final assignment, he was a Special Assistant to the Supreme Allied Commander Europe. He is the author of Fighting Amphibians and has published in professional journals and has lectured at the Institute for International Strategic Studies, Cornell University, Santa Clara University, and the US Air Force Academy. He is married to a USAF officer and has three sons. He currently lives in Portugal.
