A.M. Swinson

A. M. Swinson is a Christian author of historical suspense novels and devotionals, drawn to stories where darkness presses close—but redemption presses closer. Born with a longing to live in another time, she holds a deep affection for nineteenth-century history, particularly its shadows, scandals, and enduring spiritual struggles.

Her fascination with historical medical science, early forensic study, and the psychology of crime grew from early exposure to medical environments, shaping her suspense writing with authenticity and care. Writing from lived experience with chronic illness and long seasons of personal struggle, Swinson brings compassion and conviction to stories and studies forged in perseverance and anchored in Christ.

Alongside her novels, she writes devotionals designed to help believers recognize the enemy’s lies, reclaim spiritual ground, and pursue freedom—spiritually, emotionally, and physically—through Scripture. She is especially passionate about mentoring teens in their faith journeys and encouraging excellence in the written word for God’s glory.

She lives in Virginia with her high school sweetheart, their son, and their English Labradors, and is affectionately known as “the wordy girl.”
