Lorraine Abrams

Lorraine Abrams is the author of several cat-themed books for children and the young at heart. Her first four books are comprised of letters from her cat Spicy to her human pen pal, Rainey, alternately complaining and boasting about life with her three feline housemates.

Later, Lorraine used her imagination in a trilogy of books to tell short stories in rhyme about a fictional cat named Silly and his many friends, including Joe the Crow, a frog named Jeep, Miss Dot, a mouse, and his best friend, Dainty Dog. In each chapter, all the lines end in the same rhyming sound, making it fun to read aloud and learn a few new words.

In her most recent book, A Cat’s Historical Yarn, narrated by Spicy, the true facts of history are spun to enlighten humans about their own history – how the feline population greatly influenced them to become civilized after years of aimlessly wandering across mountains and plains. After all, cats were walking on this earth in time to witness human birth. This saga is a testimony to the endurance of love between the species.

Lorraine and her husband live in Nashville, TN, with their four precious kitties.
