Kathy Bergren Smith

Kathy Bergren Smith spent over two decades covering maritime industrial subjects as a writer and photographer. Her work appeared regularly in WorkBoat Magazine, National Fisherman, the Port of Baltimore Magazine. Covering marine casualties, Kathy came across a most significant one right in her backyard of the Chesapeake Bay. The Levin J Marvel shipwreck led to changes in legislation and regulation of passenger vessels. Kathy’s reconstruction of the tragedy and its aftermath is bassed on eyewitness accounts and they dramatically recovered diary.
