Tony Rickson

There’s a lovely moment in the great book/film Fever Pitch where the young lad at his first ever football match soaks up the atmosphere, looks at the green grass, and asks: ‘Who are we playing next week? It was like that for seven-year-old Tony Rickson when his dad first took him to see Millwall play. He was hooked, and remains devoted to football after a lifetime in journalism, much of it spent covering sport wherever it was played. In retirement, he’s written two books on football and his love of the game shines through every page.
