Dr. Dana Edwards is a native of Lynchburg, South Carolina. She earned a Bachelor’s Degree in Elementary Education, a Master’s Degree in School Counseling, and a Doctorate’s Degree in Educational Leadership. Currently, Dr. Edwards is an elementary school counselor. She enjoys working with her students and spending time with her family and friends. They fuel her drive to write stories and to be successful.
She was inspired to write children’s books for a variety of reasons. First, Dr. Edwards wanted to bring awareness to the school counseling profession and the services school counselors can provide for students, staff members, families, and the community. Additionally, her goal is to help students learn coping skills to deal with difficult situations such as anger, grief, and self-esteem. Furthermore, Dr. Edwards wanted to write stories where her students felt represented, inspired, and helps them reach their highest potential.
