Sivaram Pothukuchi

Sivaram Pothukuchi graduated in Electronics Engineering from IIT-Madras.

Mr. Sivaram is mentor and member of steering committee at C4i4. Centre for Industry 4.0 is a not-for-profit organisation dedicated to promotion of Industry 4.0 among MSME in manufacturing sector.

Till March 1, 2020 he was the Non-Executive Chairman of B&R Industrial Automation. Earlier, he was the Managing Director of B&R Industrial Automation. He founded the organisation in 1996 and built it to be among the top 3 players in Indian market in Machine and Factory Automation. He is also a past President of the Automation Industries Association (AIA).

After his graduation from IIT Madras in 1976, he began his career in Bhabha Atomic Research Centre. He later shifted to a German multinational company in Electrical engineering. He has worked in various fields like Power Transmission and Distribution, Communications, and Power Plant Automation. He has considerable experience in Distributed Systems, SCADA, DCS, and microcontroller applications. He has worked on software for redundancy systems, and managed large projects both in public sector and private fields. He has over forty years of work experience.

He believes strongly that digitalisation and adoption of the technology and practices of Industry4.0 is essential for MSME of India. He works to bring these concepts clearer to the people for whom it is more important. He believes SAMARTH UDYOG is nearer to the needs of India, and we must strike our own path to I4.0

Foremost task ahead is to prepare people for living in a digital world. He is convinced that the new technologies need to be explored and driven into shop floor applications by young people.
