Bob and Gretchen DeVoe founded Lifeline Christian Mission in 1980 at age 36. Bob, a successful General Contractor in Ohio and having been healed by God of terminal malignant melanoma (a true miracle), and Gretchen a nurse and administrator of a large family medicine group in Columbus, Ohio, went to the country of Haiti where Bob built a clinic in Port au Prince for another mission organization. During those three months in Haiti God began to reveal a plan for him to become a full-time missionary. Upon returning home to Ohio he founded Lifeline Christian Mission. Today the mission has grown to the point there are active mission locations in nine countries and even a multicultural ministry in Winslow, Arizona. Lifeline's "Causes" are 1) Churches/Evangellism; 2) Children's Ministries including education; 3) Health Care and Nutrition; 4) Economic Empowerment and 5) Engaging people hands-on in service to others for God. In January 2016, following nearly 40 years of ministry DeVoes completed their Transition Plan and passed their torches to their chosen successors. Today they continue on staff at Lifeline working in the areas of development and donor relationships including fundraising. The book they have authored also includes contributing Stories from many of those who have come alongside DeVoes and ministered too. Many became missionaries themselves. Please read our book of Stories that give glory and gratitude to God, but also inform, educate, entertain, bring some tears and lots of chuckles, and motivate readers to engage in serving God and others.
