Ed Eng

Dr. Ed Eng is a best-selling author, professor, former Fortune 500 executive, and Mayor of La Mirada. His work is centered on practical leadership and the belief that leadership is revealed under pressure.

He is the author of *The Accidental Mayor: From the Side Streets of Chinatown to the Main Street of City Hall*, which chronicles his journey from an immigrant childhood in Los Angeles' Chinatown to leadership in business, government, education, and public service. That journey has shaped his approach to leadership: practical, grounded in experience, and focused on the choices that matter most.

Dr. Eng's career spans the private, public, and academic sectors, including Regional President of the Los Angeles Times and Executive Director of the Los Angeles County Economy & Efficiency Commission. He was elected to the La Mirada City Council, served as Mayor, and continues to represent his community on the Council.

A university professor, Dr. Eng brings decades of leadership experience into the classroom. He holds a Doctorate in Organizational Leadership and Change, an MBA in Strategic Management, an MS in Systems Engineering, and a BS in Electrical Engineering.

His work today brings those experiences together through writing, teaching, and speaking about practical leadership for life's most important choices.
