Kathleen Mccann

Kathleen McCann was born and raised in New York City, and she studied English Literature at the Graduate Center of the City University of New York. She taught for many years, and she has always made things—toys, clothes, quilts, paintings, books. Across the Ocean Wild was inspired by her ancestry research and is loosely based on the story of her grandmother. Sunrise also draws upon her ancestry research. She currently lives in the Bronx. The image is of one of her paintings.
