Simon David Stein is a postdoc at the English linguistics department at Heinrich Heine University Düsseldorf, Germany. As part of the research unit Spoken Morphology, he wrote his dissertation about the phonetics of derived words in English, investigating how morphological properties affect the acoustic duration of derivatives. He's also interested in sociolinguistics, literary and cultural studies, and game studies, and explore how these can join forces to investigate language ideologies in popular media.
