Tim Mason

Tim Mason is an artist and author born in Hawaii, Honolulu. From an early age, Tim showed great interest in drawing and painting, following in the footsteps of his Japanese-born mother (a world-renowned artist), from whom he learned all drawing techniques.

At the age of 10, he was introduced to the world of anime & manga, becoming an avid fan of the best-known cartoons of his era. He attended the New York Academy of Art, earning top honors. Immediately after college, attracted to his mother's home country and the cradle of the anime & manga world, he decided to move to Tokyo where he worked with a well-known manga comics company.

In addition to his full-time job, Tim also opened his own private gallery where he collects all his most cherished works and occasionally gives private drawing lessons. It was on this occasion that Tim thought of writing a book on how to draw anime and manga quickly and easily, in order to reach as many readers as possible. The drawings in his books were done directly by Tim, who took a whole year to create the work.
