K.M. Harikrishnan

I am a laparoscopic surgeon and endoscopist by profession, with a passion for writing, be it professional articles, travelogues, book reviews, music reviews or stories. I am a self-styled musicologist, with a huge personal collection of music and music related books. Having been an avid reader of all sorts of books since my childhood, I had always dreamed of writing a book of my own. The Three Muscat Years is my first attempt at a full length book based on personal experiences as a young soldier-doctor. My second book, Conversations With Rufus, is about our pet dog. I have also published a Tamil version of this book, titled Rufusum Naanum. A Kannad version is about to be released.

My wife Veena and I live in Bangalore during the winter months, and spend summers in London, where my son and daughter and their families, including my grandson Akhil, our pet dog Rufus, and my son's rescue dog Loka are settled.
