I am a clinical psychologist in Boston, Massachusetts. I've always worked in schools and colleges. I spent fourteen years as a counselor and administrator in a high school. For the past five years, I've worked in a middle school preparatory program for students from under-resourced communities seeking admission to competitive private high schools.
In my private practice, I specialize in teenagers, young adults, and their families. I also consult to numerous middle and secondary schools, where I help teachers, counselors, and school leaders understand and support their students. I provide professional development to faculty and staff groups at both individual schools and education conferences. I wrote "Educators as First Responders" to share some of what I have learned -- about kids, families and teachers -- over the past 25 years. I hope it resonates and provides some useful tips!
